What is Exempt Accommodation?

Supported Housing with Enhanced Benefits

Exempt accommodation is a category of supported housing where the rent is not capped by Local Housing Allowance (LHA) rates. This allows providers to offer higher-quality accommodation and meaningful support services to vulnerable residents.

To qualify as exempt, the accommodation must be provided by a non-profit organisation or housing association, and the tenant must receive care, support, or supervision that amounts to more than minimal. Our standard is a minimum of one hour of support per week per resident.

The Supported Housing Act 2023 has introduced new regulatory requirements for exempt accommodation providers. Stone and Sky is fully compliant with these requirements and committed to maintaining the highest standards.
